About Kahuna

Cyprus is known for its beautiful beaches, hot sun and welcoming greek culture but its also a hidden gem in the kitesurfing world. We need to spread the word about its steady thermal side-on winds of 17-25 knots that blow consistently every day throughout the summer season from May to October.Whats more we have the advantage of the warm mediterranean water so no wetsuits, no cold feet and no runny noses. Our days are long, sunny and warm so you’ll be in your boardshorts all day long. Whats more we have the advantage of the warm mediterranean water so no wetsuits, no cold feet and no runny noses. Kahuna surfhouse has set up the first fully equipped kitesurfing centre, Kiti, Softades Beach, Larnaca which is a 20 minute drive from all the main cities on the island. Its so close to the airport that you’llbe kiting an hour before your flight check -in – so no wasted travel time. You’re only a short drive from the crazy party capital in Ayia Napa and if that’s not your thing then you can chill in Kiti or Pervolia.

We’ve got a 2km beach playground and we know we tick off most boxes on a kitesurfers checklist: warm water, flat water, shallow water, sandy beach, no reefs, no sharks, no coral, steady not gusty wind and a chill out area to have a cold beer after a long session of learning to kite or freeriding.Kahuna Surfhouse is a great place to learn to kitesurf because of all these factors. We make it as easy and as stress free as possible – you won’t be battling with the force of the ocean or with the crowds of kiters that have taken over the older kite hotspots in the Med. Our 10 hour course is taught by experienced IKO certified instructors with up to date equipment and all the safety gear you need. Freeriders will also have a great time at our beach – the long stretch of water and steady winds is perfect for practicing those new tricks or just cruising.
